An Arangetram is a dancer's debut
An Arangetram is the moment a Bharatanatyam student first performs a full solo margam on stage, after years of training with her guru. For Aarya, that evening came on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the HUSD Performing Arts Center in Hayward.
Under the guidance of Guru Vidhya Venkatesan and with a live orchestra, Aarya danced the evening in two costumes — green and purple, then teal and red — moving from the opening invocation through the pieces she had prepared for so long.
Her parents, Sreeram Veeraraghavan and Ambika Prem Kumar, her brother Yajat, and a hall full of family and friends were there to watch, bless her and celebrate. These photos follow the whole day: the portraits before the curtain, the dance itself, the blessings and the proud moments after.
